Dr Tom Gibb promoted to Director
We are delighted to announce that Dr Thomas Gibb has been promoted to Director.
Founding Director Helga Chapman said: “My fellow directors and I look forward to having Tom on board to assist with the continued growth and management of the practice. This is a thoroughly deserved promotion in recognition of Tom’s hard work and commitment. He is an exceptionally talented member of the Chapman IP team, regularly called upon by clients for his expertise, and is heavily involved in all IP work from original drafting to European patent oppositions.”
A Cambridge graduate and materials science specialist, Tom is a UK and European patent attorney. He joined Chapman IP after completing a PhD in chemistry at Imperial College London. His PhD focused on devices for single molecule detection and their integration into microfluidic platforms.
Prior to his PhD he obtained both an MA and MSci in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, specialising in Materials Science and Metallurgy. Tom was awarded a Selwyn College (Cambridge) scholarship for all four years of study. He also won the Royal Society Armourers & Brasiers’ AWE prize for outstanding, pioneering and innovating materials science research in his penultimate and final years.
