From start up to multi million pound sale of business

From start up to multi million pound sale of business, Plum Baby was launched in 2006 by Susie Willis, a former chef and mother of three.  Susie asked chapman+co for assistance for protecting her new brand, Plum Baby.   Chapman+co advised on the registrability of the brands and then initially protected the house brand in the UK and then overseas. Later trade mark registrations included a sweep of subsidiary brands such as Plum Organics, various pictorial logos and other word brands

With the assistance of a private equity firm the business was recently sold to Campbell Soup Company.  The value of the intellectual property rights, subsisting mainly in the registered trade mark rights owned by Plum Baby Ltd was paramount to the value and success of the sale.
